Pelican is pleased to now offer Powerflex polyurethane suspension bushings. These bushings are a great alternative to factory rubber bushings which are more prone to wear, resulting in poor tracking and handling. What are the benefits to using polyurethane over rubber? Prolonged tire life, improved performance, better handling and they are more cost-effective than OEM bushings. Suspension bushings are some of the most highly stressed components fitted to a motor car. They undergo enormous strains in the most arduous of conditions with no maintenance or lubrication. The material they are manufactured from is a rubber compound containing natural products which deteriorate with age. It becomes softer and more pliable, resisting the forces placed on it less and less. Therefore allowing more and more movement of suspension components and offering less and less control over the suspension geometry. This in turn causes accelerated tire wear, braking instability and poor handling. This is the single biggest reason you can instantly tell the difference driving a three year old car compared to a showroom new one. However even new cars will benefit from Powerflex bushings because of their superior design for which they offer much more effective control of the suspension components to a much greater extent than normal rubber items. With the technological advances in this material, it has been possible to overcome the common problem associated with harder bushings, which is increased noise. By correctly engineering the polyurethane compound, bushings can be made 25-30% stiffer than new rubber items, but with exactly the same noise absorbing properties. Powerflex bushings make sense.

SPL Parts adjustable Rear Toe Arms (RTA) increase stability and response by eliminating bushing deflection and offer a wide range of toe and bump steer adjustment. When you lower your 996/997, the factory links create too much toe-in that cannot be adjusted out. This creates handling problems and excessive tire wear. These arms are designed for use in high performance street and race vehicles. SPL Parts PRO Series Front Endlinks (FE) for the Porsche 996 and 997 chassis also fit the front and rear of the Boxster and Cayman. Custom heat treated Chromoly High Misalignment studs connect to the sway bar and offer extreme articulation capability (65deg) to prevent the endlink from binding when used with different adjustment holes on aftermarket sway bars. SPL Endlinks are length adjustable to eliminate preload on the sway bars, which can result from uneven settling of springs or uneven suspension heights from corner weighting. Aluminum turnbuckles work in conjunction with the left and right hand threaded rod ends provide simple and precise adjustment.

SPL Parts Front Tie Rod Ends (TRE) allow the tie rod end pivot to be relocated, which will correct bump steer resulting from modified caster or lower arm geometry, thus reducing lap times. On cars that are lowered significantly, relocating the pivot point will also keep the tie rod end from binding, thereby preventing the inner tie rods from breaking or bending when racing.

SPL's black anodized CNC machined billet aluminum wrench is a useful addition to your racing tool box. Designed for use with their hybrid adjusters, this small offset wrench works in tight spaces and will not damage the finish on the adjuster. You will need two wrenches, one to hold the adjuster and one to tighten the jam nut. SPL recommends using their aluminum wrench together with a standard adjustable crescent wrench, the aluminum wrench can be used for adjustment and initial tightening, final tightening with the larger crescent wrench is recommended for more tightening torque. SPL also machined a bottle cap opener into the wrench to help you enjoy your favorite cold beverage of choice at the track or the garage!
